Scenic gondola ride up (HK$94/US$12 one way), with a great view of the massive airport.
Now the sun is starting to come out briefly. Oh it’s gone again.
I did manage to sleep 3 and 1.5 hours on these 2 flights. I skipped the sandwich near the end of the first 7hr flight.
Salad with scallops
Shrimp and salad main dish (out of 4 options)
Oh yeah, the ice cream trolley!
Tasty curry sauce on chicken and rice
And surprisingly they had an amenity kit (without an amenity bag, which is a good thing) inc slippers, on the gum-hkg leg.
Had dinner and a shower here after my half day in Hong Kong yesterday. This is the best of the 3 *A lounges at HKG – the SG (Singapore Airlines) lounge is nice but windowless and equivalent to their Gold lounge in SIN, ie not the full biz lounge I expected bad on the name
Very hazy day, zero sun or views.
Didn’t sleep at all – watched a movie instead (The Dark Knight Rises) which was almost as long as the flight.
Put my bag in left luggage (HK$10/US$1.30 per hour, max HK$100 per 24 hours) since I can’t recheck it until 18:30 which is 4hrs before the flight.
I need some coffee and then dim sum.
In the taxi to SIN airport. Before 5am.
For the first time this trip, I didn’t wake up before my alarm.
I’m long forward to sleeping on the lie-flat seat in biz on this first leg to HKG.
Yes it is 2am here. Next flight is in 13hrs to somewhere new!
It only took me 30min from plane arriving at gate to sitting in a taxi. Sweet!
You know that IKEA commercial where the woman yells “start the car”? This was me yelling “stop the car” a few times as he sailed by the address. Pretty funny actually.
And this Hostel is 10x better than the last one on the inside. Lockable room with only 4 beds and power ports and lockers at each bed, and an ensuite bathroom. And cleaner. For S$30/US$25. Breakie included too.
Very tasty tom ka gai and self serve drinks in an airy setting. Oh, and massage chair technology has improved a lot (free)
