My “office” perch in TG (Thai Airways) lounge at HKG
Had dinner and a shower here after my half day in Hong Kong yesterday. This is the best of the 3 *A lounges at HKG – the SG (Singapore Airlines) lounge is nice but windowless and equivalent to their Gold lounge in SIN, ie not the full biz lounge I expected bad on the name

In HKG for 12 hours
Very hazy day, zero sun or views.
Didn’t sleep at all – watched a movie instead (The Dark Knight Rises) which was almost as long as the flight.
Put my bag in left luggage (HK$10/US$1.30 per hour, max HK$100 per 24 hours) since I can’t recheck it until 18:30 which is 4hrs before the flight.
I need some coffee and then dim sum.

Off to Batam, Indonesia for a half day
1hr fast ferry S$47/US$38 round trip inc port taxes

Same brand, but it’s a small draft beer they sell for US$0.50 at the bars/restos in town.

My hovercraft is full of eels
So I’m enjoying a tasty traditional Khmer spicy soup somloo mjour krueng (US$3.75 plus 0.50 for a draft beer- the US dollar is used here more than local currency in tourist areas) at the Khmer Family Restaurant on Pub St, and after asking for fresh chillis (which, in my defence, was pictured on tip of the soup) and I realized I hadn’t learned any Khmer words yet.
Since there is WiFi I google phrases and get to omniglot. The last phrase is the one in the title and links to…
Check out the many translations for this Classic Monty Python phrase.

German but no Spanish?
It’s not often you see German prioritized over Spanish. Drinking fountain at the gate in SIN on the way to REP.
